Abstract :
Testing and monitoring a strategy for controlling Argentine ant (Linepithema humile) populations of Port-Cros and Porquerolles. This project leans on works accomplished by J. Orgeas and P. Ponel who had demonstrated the fragility of the native entomofauna confronted with human disturbances in the Port-Cros national Park. Our work was based on the specific diagnostic of the invasion of the Argentine ant (Linepithema humile) established in 2005 and 2006 in Port-Cros and Porquerolles islands. The objective of this article is, firstly, to introduce the protocol of control of the spread of the Argentine ant in Porquerolles, then to present the distribution of Linepithema humile and finally, to present the first results of the inventory of the myrmecofauna in Port-Cros.
