ABSTRACT :
The interest of the archipelago of Kerkennah ( Eastern Tunisia) for wintering or migratory birds is well established ; however, the (few) information on the breeding populations emphasizes the poverty of this insular component and the dominance of Stone-curlew. The PIM-mission conducted from 27 to 30 March 2014 confirms these facts but brings new elements : the increase of Yellow-legged Gull , discovery of a new species for the archipelago (Tawny Pipit)… Poaching and vandalism are the current major threat affecting the nesting bird populations but the urban and tourist developments, that knows the area, appear to be potential threats.
