At the occasion of a PIM field mission on Sazani island in May 2013, an expertise was led in the perimeter of Karaburun-Sazan MPA and in Vlora Bay to evaluate the ecological quality of the rocky fringe in the area, following the CARLIT method. On the basis of the results obtained, index of ecological quality were determined, and then related to ecological status as defined following the recommendations of European Water Framework.
