In June 2019 in Hyères (France), the Conservatoire du littoral and PIM organised the 1st training Cube Formation as part of the COGITO project. In 2020, MedPAN is organising a second training session in Tabarka.
The principle of the training cube is to involve, for the same territory, three actors with different profiles (representatives of national or local administrations, management units of natural sites, NGOs or research centres, …), coming from the 11 pilot sites of the project (Morocco, Algeria, Tunisia, Lebanon, Turkey and Albania) in order to make them work together during the training.
Throughout the week, the training alternates classroom sessions and site visits with the aim of discussing topics such as fundraising and project development, governance, or the management of uses (tourism, agriculture, fishing, etc.) and the challenges of partnerships and co-management of the territory. Speakers in the room and in the field, environment professionals, are invited to illustrate the theoretical lessons with practical cases and concrete experiences.
