Goal : The COGITO Project brings together central actors of conservation in the Mediterranean: PIM Initiative, Conservatoire du littoral, MedPAN and WWF-Méditerranée. This project will support PIM actions for the 4 years on about ten pilot sites in Tunisia, Morocco, Algeria, Lebanon and Albania, and will implement regional actions (training and in-site training, strategic meetings and advocacy, communication and events). The aim of the project is to contribute to the support and consolidation of integrated management and resilience processes in the coastal, island and marine areas of the Mediterranean, for the benefit of the ecosystems and local communities, by supporting co-management approaches in these territories.
Through this project, PIM supports a large number of island sites with different configurations and feeds its approach thanks to this feedback from the field. On the basis of this feedback, PIM then adapts its support to the manager by setting up complementary projects.
