GOAL :
Towards a strategy for the preservation of the biodiversity of Mediterranean islands
The Mediterranean Islands Collective (MIC), financed by the MAVA Foundation, aims to develop a strategy and an action plan to preserve the biodiversity of the Mediterranean islands in order to have a coherent and collaborative action between the actors already working in the region. A strategy and an action plan to be implemented after 2022 are being drafted.
The MIC project is also, in parallel, pilot projects that will feed the action plan. These pilot projects concern actions to mitigate the impact of invasive species, the economic viability of the islands, ultra-threatened endemic species and landscape restoration.
